follow you until you love me

Melou is still waiting for Michelle to come back, having latched onto the idea of her with complete and utter adoration. But in the meantime, he's still got to do something, and he's taken to doing a little carpentry by himself, to keep his hands busy and because he isn't really comfortable with the idea of taking food from Stigmata without paying ( Read more... )

Michelle's return has been delayed by something commonplace. Elisheba developed the slightest of fevers, and still being a relatively new mother, refused to listen to Mera that all would be fine.

Her daughter was fine within 48 hours, but Michelle stayed with her longer, reading her stories and watching her sleep. The books of child's stories came in her last package -- postmarked Shiloh but without a return address. While Elisheba is far too young to understand what's being read to her, just sitting, spending time, explaining the pictures to the infant in great detail, is a peaceful way to spend time.

But her search for Jack must continue, and Michelle made a promise to a young boy to return. She'd never want her daughter, at any point, to think her mother didn't keep her promises.

She spots Melou before he sees here. "I'm sorry, I've been delayed in returning. I hope you haven't waited this whole time."

He smiles at her beatifically, clearly delighted beyond measure to see her again. "My lady! How do you?"

The smile can't help but earn one in return.

"I'm fine," Michelle's a little tired, but it's more due to the aftereffects of worry than anything. "Did you find somewhere safe to stay?"

Melou ducks his head guiltily. "An empty shed, my lady."

Morgana is rushing about looking for items needed for the Wayfaring Mare. Most of the estate's furniture came with the building, but she wants fresh linens, and draperies, as she will not trust any of the ones that came with the house. She knows her own selections will be of a higher standard.

For once, she does not carry Veda's basket. No, the little princess is back at the estate, roaming around all that she rules.

Thus, she is not paying too close of attention when it comes to those on the street. Her mind is busy turning over all that she needs.

Melou skips out of her way carefully, being ever on the alert, and then stills when he recognises her step. "My lady!" joyfully, his sad face lighting up.

Morgana takes a moment before she speaks. It is not that she does not recognize the boy, far from it, she remembers the exact circumstances of their meeting and has often thought of the boy hiding from the army wearing her cloak. No, she is simply surprised he is here.

She is also surprised he survived being hunted by the army of Camelot. That to Morgana is infinitely impressive.

"Sir," he deserves the respect for the simple act of not perishing. "You look well." She means fed and not caked in mud and not, most importantly, dead. There is also the thought that this boy will grow up to be rather handsome, particularly when he smiles.

"The more fortunate I to appear well to you, my lady," with a laugh, pleasure at seeing her making him bolder than he would ordinarily be (he has been a little in love with her ever since meeting her, and it would not be untrue to say that he's dreamed of her a little too). His smile always is reminiscent of his Uncle Gawain's, bright and warm like you'd never expect from someone who ordinarily looks so unhappy as he does.
