Her daughter was fine within 48 hours, but Michelle stayed with her longer, reading her stories and watching her sleep. The books of child's stories came in her last package -- postmarked Shiloh but without a return address. While Elisheba is far too young to understand what's being read to her, just sitting, spending time, explaining the pictures to the infant in great detail, is a peaceful way to spend time.
But her search for Jack must continue, and Michelle made a promise to a young boy to return. She'd never want her daughter, at any point, to think her mother didn't keep her promises.
She spots Melou before he sees here. "I'm sorry, I've been delayed in returning. I hope you haven't waited this whole time."

"I'm fine," Michelle's a little tired, but it's more due to the aftereffects of worry than anything. "Did you find somewhere safe to stay?"

For once, she does not carry Veda's basket. No, the little princess is back at the estate, roaming around all that she rules.
Thus, she is not paying too close of attention when it comes to those on the street. Her mind is busy turning over all that she needs.

She is also surprised he survived being hunted by the army of Camelot. That to Morgana is infinitely impressive.
"Sir," he deserves the respect for the simple act of not perishing. "You look well." She means fed and not caked in mud and not, most importantly, dead. There is also the thought that this boy will grow up to be rather handsome, particularly when he smiles.
