i think a lab job could be good as an experience, and you will have a more large curriculum no?

take it!

And quotas! QUOTAS SHOULD DIE.

Yeah a lab job would definitely be good in learning how the school functions, and since it's under the american curriculum i do get a different exposure (been under the UK curriculum for 15 years). but i just don't know if i actually want the progression that being a lab tech would lead to?

thanks!!! :D i thought i would give the light brown-ness a bit of a rest and go with something more 'red' :P

I think long term, that lab job might be better than working for Cathay. I do know of a couple of ex-SISers who worked for Cathay, and their "lifespan" in that sort of job is not very long. And once you get booted out, you're not left with a lot of options if you want to switch careers (which is what will inevitably happen).

Oh I never knew peope in our school went to cathay ;____; And yeah, if I got into cathay I don't really see myself working for them (as a flight attendant) longer than 5 years. didn't really think about how employable a flight attendant job would be.. orz

my parents have told me to take the job and if there's really something better than quit but i feel bad...

Well the lab job is still more professional than being an air stewardess (which is really just a glorified version of a waitress lol), and the potential opportunities are better too. You might hear of other job openings at the school or other ESFs just by being there, and you might get priority over other applicants in reality.

Also, taking a job and then not going to it afterwards isn't that uncommon. Lots of people I know do that. XD;

is it really? I don't know, it seems like such an easy job in my perspective ^^;; but true on the glorified waitress/nurse XD

yeah i'm hoping if i do leave and do a teaching degree my background will make it easier to get back into an international school.

alright then ^_^;; just feel bad in saying "yeah i'll take that offer. OH NO I WON'T."

I don't think cathay is going to close down any time soon since it's a pretty big company, but the turnover rate does seem higher. And I agree on education! More and more people want to go to study, so I guess it's a good career in the long run :)

I've accepted the offer, just hope I don't get anything I like more between now and when I start!

Yeah I did... It was the only job that gave me an offer, so it's not like I'm in a position to refuse it ^^;
