and yeah, i think it's alfred the great? i just remember he was in wessex and he started to use english for all the paperwork instead of latin then the normans came over and stuff got messed up XDD timeline-wise it should be him :)
i just wish there was a nossex or something... i mean there's sussex, essex, wessex (okay gone but) but none for north!?!? it annoys me as much as the lack of a xijing/nishikyou or something. west captial? i mean there's nanjing (south), bejing (north), tokyo (east) but no west?!?!
