So it turns out you can fashion a reasonable hide-out in the basement, as long as you are willing to make your own fun. Which is probably the best explanation for the signs up on the walls, saying things like "STAY OUT", "NO PARENTS ALLOWED", and "THERE ARE RATS DOWN HERE EW", with little seahorses doodled all around the letters ( Read more... )

Rory escaped from Mrs. Kim and Lane for a little while in the afternoon (and yeah, she'd wished she could've nabbed Lane on her own for a few minutes) and snuck back to her room.

A few minutes after that, she made her way down to the basement with an enormous bag of candy and a huge thermos of coffee with a few cups. "I bring provisions for ye who are in hiding," she called.
