Quickly the two children darted forward and toward the light, they could hear a sort of frantic moaning coming from the glow ahead of them. As they got close they were astonished by what they could see. Another faery, of course, but what a faery! A fiery faery!

oh thank you!:))

i'm very glad the end wasn't a let down - i really had a lot of fun telling the story to the children but i wasn't sure that that would translate to something worth reading here.

thanks again for reading and commenting, especially when lj is barely working!

*giggles* The Earl was so funny! Underwhelmed. LOL!
I loved the ending. Very nice. Understanding, seeing someone else's POV. *nods* That's how it should be in the world, not just in faery tales, right?

Oh I hope you don't mind if I mention this?
A comfortable bad really would feel like a pot of gold!
Did you mean bed? *smiles*

I will have to click on the 'stories for children' tag and read back, so I may enjoy this one in its context -- it'll have to be in my morning, though. It's late here and my eyes won't do much justice to your words.

Have yourself a good day, please. Night from this side of the world. :)

Very enjoyable indeed! - riotous and exciting and a happy ending for the mischievous faeries. I KNEW the Earl was a good egg...ish. How old were the children you told it to? Did they heckle?

ah sweet flattery (flack jacket or flat battery??)
heee! :))

the kids were having a double 7th birthday (a boy and a girl) and they were the oldest of the motley - so it was interesting to try and work out what they might like.
this and the Peter story were definitely for a younger crowd than the Nina story you read earlier.

and thanks again for the comments, you rule* :))

*but where is your seat of power? and does it glow in the dark? and do you leave your toothpaste on the bedpost over night???

I think the seat of my power might be in my bottom.

7 - interesting times. Starting to seem slightly less like little mad simians. And not to walk into you quite so much.
