Please people get ANGRY about this. Call the mayor. Write letters. GET OFF YOUR ASSES and HELP. THIS IS WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO. If we were not here, our city animal shelter would probably be in a similar state. PLEASE DO SOMETHING to help change the fate of these poor dogs. SHAME on forrest city animal control. SHAME.

Little Sporty Spice is all grown up. We love getting updates, especially about this litter. 5 fluffy female pups. They were almost euthanized, and while looking at them in the pound I wondered if they were newfoundlands. We are revved up and ready to go! Last 2 times we have won #1 in state (with $1000 prize!) and last time we were ranked #18 in the USA. We are going for the grand prize this time, (20,000) and I know we can stay in the top 10. Not only is the prize money great, but the publicity and recognition we recieve from this is huge. Cats are difficult to adopt. I have heard statistics (don't quote me on this I don't remember where I heard them) that in average kill shelters, 50% of dogs never who enter the shelter never leave, but 70% of cats never leave. This is so sad ( Read more... )

At the shelter, Tuesday is one of our busiest days! And yesterday was no exception. We operate a private animal wellness clinic every tuesday - we do spays, neuters and other operations and in the afternoons we do appointments.
