Dear LJ,

I've been meaning to write, but haven't.  It all started with the salsa I made a couple of weeks ago.  It is a really nifty recipe for those of us without access to good, fresh tomatoes using canned ones.  I didn't have the jarred jalapenos so picked up a couple of fresh ones at the store.  They were not spicy, tasty hot, they were chemical

Yup, used my bare hands like I've done a hundred times before. I didn't feel anything until I went to wash my hands later. I have never had ANY type of pepper affect me that way. Was weird and unpleasant.

Spending the holidays with only a spouse is a big adjustment when the kids are grown and doing their own thing. But it's OK. :)
