Coming in from a bit of flying practise outside, Sean certainly did not expect the mini-Ackart to be dancing about in front of his common room, but then again, who would expect such a thing? Not that it wasn't a pleasant surprise, because it certainly was. Considering she was calling his name, he suspected she was waiting for him--and would have been miffed if she hadn't, honestly, wasn't he the greatest Hufflepuff ever? Er, after Nate?

Happily, Sean slung his broom over his shoulder and broke into a jog to get to his common room faster. "Well, I must be lucky!" he shouted in greeting, grinning. "T' receive such a special guest, hullo hullo hullo!"

When he reached her, he propped his broom against the wall and opened his arms to hug her tightly--because, really, going this long without seeing Emmy had to be criminal or something. "How're ya, what's happening, haven't seen ye in FOREVER, how's fifth year, is everythin' all right, did ye get taller?" he asked in a rush, and then craned his neck to get a look at her, maybe he just hadn ( ... )

At the sound of a familiar voice, Emmy whirled around and beamed at Sean, "Seeeeeaaaaan!!! There you are!" she cheered, laughing as he pulled her into a hug. She hugged him back, as best she could, considering her much tinier frame in comparison to his much more... giant-like one. She continued to giggle as he rattled off a ridiculous number of questions in such quick succession.

Oh, but she had missed him so! He was obviously one of her favourite Hufflepuffs and it was downright depressing to think of how long it had been since she'd seen him last.

She beamed at him, "I am just lovely. Fifth year is wonderful, except it seems to have made me so busy I haven't seen you at all!" she pushed her lower lip out to form a very sad little pout. Then she giggled, "As for getting taller, I don't think so? But maybe I have?" she did a slow turn all around so he could study her better, then stood up on her tiptoes before putting her feet back solidly on the ground.

"But what have you been up to? Is seventh year really as brilliant as Nate ( ... )

Sean gave her one last squeeze--he really did need to start putting Emmy in his pocket, then he wouldn't have to miss her so much when he didn't see her--and grinned. Emmy was a fifth year, somehow it was extraordinary to consider. Considering he'd known her for so long, and she was growing up, and Merlin, it was sort of like how his brothers and sisters were growing up so fast--er, a little frightening.

"Aye, I think ye are," he said thoughtfully, stroking his chin in an exaggerated fashion as she spun around. "Yep. You're almost as tall as me, yep, jes' about." He tried to keep a straight face, twisting his lips around to keep from laughing. Emmy was nowhere near being as tall as him; she was, after all, pocket-sized.

"Eh, brilliant, sorta. I mean, th' classes are really hard, y'know, I'm not sure how I'll handle it," he whined, although whining on Sean was still accompanied by a goofy grin. "But at least I've got free time t' practise flyin' an' whatnot," he added, gesturing to his broom ( ... )

Emmy giggled as she turned about, listening for Sean's assessment. She burst out laughing when he actually managed to claim she was nearly as tall as he, and without laughing himself! She was impressed! "Oh, dear! Mum will be so displeased, having to buy me all new robes for my sudden new height!" she giggled, completely unable to continue the joke.

Truly, though, she didn't mind being so short. She preferred being pocket size to Sean's giant size; it meant for lots of time with the brilliant, wonderful bloke who's mere presence made it impossible not to have a grand time, no matter what.

Emmy frowned slightly at his complaint that his classes were hard, "Well, it is your NEWT year, but still you'll do fine, I'm sure. You could always ask Ami for help. She's the best tutor I know!" She tried to find the bright side of everything, our Emmy.

"And you'll need the practise time, too! I'm even better this year!" she beamed at him, "Going to make it as hard as I can for you at the next match. No easy matches against Ravenclaw for you ( ... )
