Week Name/Date/Time: The Missing, Part 2 / Sunday, 1 October 2006 / 11:11 AM
Location: outside the Hufflepuff common room
Open To: Sean, the beloved big brother substitute
Currently Involving: Emmy, who has missed him dreadfully, and carries word from a certain elder Ackart
(
Ackarts do so adore Brightwell-shaped blokes! )
Oh, but she had missed him so! He was obviously one of her favourite Hufflepuffs and it was downright depressing to think of how long it had been since she'd seen him last.
She beamed at him, "I am just lovely. Fifth year is wonderful, except it seems to have made me so busy I haven't seen you at all!" she pushed her lower lip out to form a very sad little pout. Then she giggled, "As for getting taller, I don't think so? But maybe I have?" she did a slow turn all around so he could study her better, then stood up on her tiptoes before putting her feet back solidly on the ground.
"But what have you been up to? Is seventh year really as brilliant as Nate always said it was?" she bounced, though her questions came out much slower than his. Not that they were lacking in any energy, as Emmy was always energetic, of course.

"Aye, I think ye are," he said thoughtfully, stroking his chin in an exaggerated fashion as she spun around. "Yep. You're almost as tall as me, yep, jes' about." He tried to keep a straight face, twisting his lips around to keep from laughing. Emmy was nowhere near being as tall as him; she was, after all, pocket-sized.
"Eh, brilliant, sorta. I mean, th' classes are really hard, y'know, I'm not sure how I'll handle it," he whined, although whining on Sean was still accompanied by a goofy grin. "But at least I've got free time t' practise flyin' an' whatnot," he added, gesturing to his broom.
After a moment of thought, he smirked. "Nate probably jes' liked seventh year so much 'cause he was popular with th' ladies, eh, I'm sure that's bound t' make it a good year."

Truly, though, she didn't mind being so short. She preferred being pocket size to Sean's giant size; it meant for lots of time with the brilliant, wonderful bloke who's mere presence made it impossible not to have a grand time, no matter what.
Emmy frowned slightly at his complaint that his classes were hard, "Well, it is your NEWT year, but still you'll do fine, I'm sure. You could always ask Ami for help. She's the best tutor I know!" She tried to find the bright side of everything, our Emmy.
"And you'll need the practise time, too! I'm even better this year!" she beamed at him, "Going to make it as hard as I can for you at the next match. No easy matches against Ravenclaw for you any more!" she poked him in the side playfully to punctuate her statement. Nate had been helping her train over the summer, and even he said she'd been improving at her Seeking.
She fell into a fit of giggles at Sean's comment about her brother, "What? You're not telling me that you're not just as popular as he was, are you?! I'd think you'd be much more popular than Nate with the girls, really! You're much more fun!" she beamed at him.

"Aw, yeh, 'tis true," he replied, brightening at Emmy's suggestion. Not that Sean wasn't always in a good mood, but Emmy's energy was so infectious that it often put him in an even better mood. He turned toward the common room door, giving the password. "I reckon--come in, eh?--I reckon I'm gonna be leanin' on her a lot this year," he added. Ami would help him for sure, and he hoped she wouldn't mind. And if she did, he hoped she wasn't so polite that she wouldn't tell him, because he never knew when he was annoying people.
"Ohhhhh?!" he drawled in a high-pitched manner, arching his eyebrows and trying to look affronted at the challenge. "Ye don't say, eh. Well, you're on, Ackart, we'll settle this on th' pitch!" He couldn't keep it up, though, and giggled when she poked him in the side. Holding the door to the common room open for her, he added, "Don't ye know, that's what all th' practise is fer! I said, 'Seannie-boy, Emmy is goin' t' be quite a challenge this year, ye better bulk up!'"
The idea of Sean being more popular with girls than Nate almost made him laugh out loud--but, aw, Emmy was just his little sister, she just had no idea! "Oh well, o'course I'm better looking," he teased, scratching the back of his head. "That's why I can't settle down with a girl, wouldn't want t' break all my fans' hearts, y'know." He coughed into his hand, masking a chuckle.

"Well, Ami's wonderful. I don't think I know anyone who hasn't needed her help! She'll singlehandedly make sure everyone scores brilliant marks this year, I think," she beamed brightly, "She's so generous with her time, really. I don't know what Hogwarts will do without her. Or you. Or anyone, really, after this year," she pouted somewhat, never liking the thought of her older friends leaving her behind.
Emmy nodded when he invited her in, holding the door open for her. She bounced into the Hufflepuff common room without hesitation; she'd been in there loads of times, after all. Then she twirled around, "Absolutely!" she beamed at him, "I do hope your house won't be too upset with you when you lose to Ravenclaw," she batted her eyelashes at him sweetly. Then she giggled, "Oh? Is that it, then? Clever, clever Sean! But it shan't do you any good! I'm going to beat you this year!"
She turned to look around the room, quickly commandeering an empty sofa for them by plopping down into the center of it. She beamed up at him, "Well, of course you're better looking! Nate's face is absolutely ridiculous, honestly! Only our mum could love his mug, you know!" Then she giggled so hard that she doubled over on the couch. "Oh, really? Well, of course, I suppose that's awfully kind of you, Sean. Protecting them that way, but they'll have to move along soon enough, won't they? Suspect you'll be settling in as an old married man any day now!" she winked at him.
