i'm flicking channels between "the exorcist" and "the ten commandements: the miniseries."
i'm applying thamesrhodes' theory that "the exorcist" is basically a homoerotic film.
deemi, deemi, why you do-a this to me deemi? or do i blame thames for putting the idea in my head?

The homoerotic element in this novel and film has crossed (no pun intended, of course) my mind in subsequent years, although I haven't re-read the book or seen the movie again in at least twenty-five years. Really powerful and troubling, and I'd need to be held tight by a tough Jewish woman to make it through another viewing, I think.

more people should see cruising.
maybe i'll rent again for a refresher course.

(btw, it was everyone's drunken film commentary. cheap wine and cheap beer have led people down stranger paths...)
