I really really don't want to vote for Clinton but I probably will if she is the Democratic candidate. :^( She has been too hawkish for me all along.

I liked Obama a lot but even he is saying he wouldn't pull out of Iraq for some time. Still, I'd feel okay about voting for him.

I like Edwards more and more, though.

Clinton and Romney are the only candidates that I REALLY don't want to see in the election ( ... )

I'm very, very unlikely to vote for any Republican candidate because of reproductive rights and other social issues. Find me one that supports choice and stem cell research and I'd consider it, although I'd still be more likely to go Dem.

I used to be a Nader fan (voted for him in 2000) but got disillusioned by his behavior at the tail end of that election. Now I think he's too impractical.

Hans used to love McCain and has written him in before, in fact. I had at least some respect for him, although I differed too much from him on social issues to be likely to vote for him. But we both think he's lost a lot of credibility in the past few years.

Yeah, that's the only major area where I'm not in 100% agreement with Ron Paul. He wants to overturn Roe v Wade and leave it up to the individual states to determine their stance on abortion. Personally I'm against abortion but I'm still of the mindset that it should be legal regardless of how I personally feel about it.

I'm also pretty much at odds with the GOP's stances on social issues, but I'm against the DNC's stances on almost all the other issues.

Yeah, McCain has definitely lost a lot of cred in the past couple years. I did really like how willing he was to go against the party line when he thought it was wrong. I think the two parties and how much they are trying to pit their followers against each other is exactly the kind of decisiveness this country DOESN'T need right now. If it were up to me I'd crush the GOP and DNC with a merciless iron fist. Not that I feel strongly about it or anything, hehe...

Oh, and just a side note. epa_flip is coming over tonight for gaming and we're talking about playing Guitar Hero Encore: ( ... )

<< I don't see how she gets off on criticizing Bush over the Iraq War.>>

Especially since she voted for it, huh?

PS - We've had troops in ICELAND since 1941. When do we withdraw those? Why does Iraq get priority?

Another nugget. Just found this on the AP wire site, a news alert from earlier tonight, 9:22 p.m. EDT, to be specific...

8/4/2007 21:22:42 B1400 WASHINGTON (AP)_The House votes to expand the government's abilities to eavesdrop without warrants on foreign suspects whose communications pass through the United States.

Funny how this got voted on when it did - on a SATURDAY EVENING, when so few people are watching network news... I wonder WHY?!?!

HMMM... Bush's EVIL PSYING PROGRAM, just PROMOTED AND EXPANDED by a DEMOCRAT-CONTROLLED LOWER HOUSE OF CONGRESS. $5 sez this doesn't even MAKE the New York Times, not even on an interior page...

Yep. Sadly the only time the Republicans and Democrats can work together on something is if the outcome screws the American people...

When Iceland ceases to be a threat we'll pull our troops out of there!
