My brother and father are the men i've grown up with. Neither of them are very affectionate. My brother never let me hug him and my father never hugs back. This lack of displayed emotions of people that i know love me has probably profoundly fucked me up.

The good thing that you've done in this situation though, is that you know how to hug! You are very affectionate and give some of the best hugs I know. You should be proud of your hugging abilities. If you want to hug Aaron or your dad, would it be too awkward to demand a real hug? It might work and make you feel better, you never know.
