We're having a huge wtf moment over how the things manage to fall that far unharmed (yes, it's just a small light thing landing on a cushioned surface, but still). Plus they look ridiculous when bouncing.

The bleeding-heart doves are several species in the genus Gallicolumba, a genus of ground-doves, that have plumage patterns in red on their chests that look like bleeding wounds--hence the name. Sexes are nondimorphic, so they both have the patterns. ( Read more... )
