The young mother, her family, and the likely father adapted themselves rapidly to the new situation and some cattle changed hands to prove that there were no hard feelings.
They talk about it in the article briefly. Apparently, the blood would build up causing plenty of pain and potentially death after a while.
(You'd think she would have visited the doctor to see if something could be done about her little "skin dimple" to avoid the awful things they mentioned..)
My guess (as is also mentioned in the article) is that it was her first or second ovulation - she was only fifteen after all, and some of us don't bleed much at all - and that she got a... uh... vagina made after the birth of her son.
