Vegetarian Spider!

Researchers have found a rare spider that lives in South and Central America that, literally, is an herbivore. The reason this is so, so cool is that up until recently, it was commonly thought that spiders were physically incapable of living on plants as a primary food source.

This was already featured in wtf_nature...it's listed under the "spider" tag. I don't remember the date of that entry though, so people may have forgotten already.

Just presented this awesome spider in my Gen. Zoo class today; my classmates still don't believe me, lol.

They aren't very strict vegetarians since they still eat ant larva sometimes. All of the articles I've seen tend to bury that fact. (If they mention it at all.) I don't know why since to me an omnivore spider is just as nifty as a complete herbivore.
