Very interesting and all that but selective breeding performed by people isn't exactly natural :V

And I remember poo-pooing those as well.

That was before moderated posting too, I'm sorting the "what gets approved and what doesn't" thing out right now. Please bear with me D:

I remember reading in some text book in the vet med library that this can be induced in goats by a certain plant.

You really aught to put a warning on that link for horrid pictures. This is a WTF community, yes, but a warning wouldn't hurt anyone.

Other than that, it's great to see anti-insane-breeding posts, people have no idea how much they screw things up when they insist on a certain body shape or fur color.

Uhm, did you read the text? Pretty sure it accurately describes most of the pictures you'll see...unless you were like "♥ KITTIES!!!1" and didn't read the article.

As the photos show, the upper part of the muzzle and roof of mouth are duplicated and the area above the muzzle is incomplete. There is only one lower jaw and tongue. The ears and eyes are malformed. The skull doesn't close completely, leaving a protruding area of brain covered only with skin and not protected by bone. It is necessary to humanely destroy any kittens that don't die at birth.

There's a big difference, to some people, between seeing and reading. That aught to be taken into consideration, still.

Am I the only one reminded of the Aquabats song "The Cat With Two Heads"?
