I saw that movie tonight aswell, I had never read the book and I was one step ahead of the movie the whole way. People had been telling me it was hard to follow but I figured everything out before it was explained, and I really didn't get what all the hype was about. It wasn't that controversial.
I think the book is definitely worth reading mainly because the film leaves out a lot of stuff. I didn't find the movie as suspenseful as the book either :\ all the crazy protesters can suck an egg
oh that is enticing, but i don't hear very good reviews about it; it only got a 2.5 star rating here... very low. everyone i speak to tells me to stay away...
and yes, i did miss out on your Louvre Day, probably due to my erratic LJ schedule of the past three months... i'll check it out... thanks for the link! oh and uh.. take me along next time! :D
I saw it too, I thought it was pretty good. And I mean they had to remove stuff to make it fit in! A lot happens in the book. I thought Audrey and Tom were a little wooden unfortunately but let me say: Sir Ian was PERFECT! He was hilarious. That line about the marijuana charge catching up w/him? Genius!
albino people have blue eyes.... they're not the devil ya know geez.. yeah but he was perfect.
yeah tom hanks was terrible as langdon. terrible. audrey is great in everything though. have you seen dirty pretty things?
the langdon in well thing was from angels and demons, but they needed to explain his constant claustrophobia. yes she was in college. yes, they were missing the brother/sister reunion. no kiss, but god i think i woulda thrown up if i had to watch hanks and audrey kiss. eww hanks.... lol
and i hate hate hate that they missed my favorite scene in the book =(.. which was when silas brings his bishop to the hospital, finds out that they were betrayed, and silas is mad and says he has to go kill the ones who betrayed them. but then the bishop was like, no christ would have forgiven. and then silas found peace. but the police just shot him in the movie >=(
no, no one has red eyes. red eyes are for bunnies lol.
yeah, i don't think fache was opus dei. and i don't remember the bishop saying langdon confessed to him?? i loved the hospital scene =( silas didn't kill himself, he was shot once by the police and after he left the bishop at the hospital, he went to a nearby park and died of blood loss i guess..
yes there were 2 cryptexes. i think it was a good part to shorten kuz there wasn't an awful lot about the plot missing, just the history explaining parts and about sofie that no one really wants to hear..
"The eyes of a person with albinism occasionally appear red due to the underlying blood vessels showing through where there is not enough pigment to cover them. In humans this is rarely the case, as a human eye is quite large and thus produces enough pigment to lend opacity to the eye. However, there are cases in which the eyes appear red or purple, depending on the amount of pigment present."

French scenery and Audrey Tautou... definitely compelling, but the movie itself doesn't appeal to me, don't know if i'll bother to see it.

they speak a lot of French and Latin in the movie if that's any more enticing :D
