A perfect little one at that. But she's stubborn (must it it from her Dad). Didn't want to give the nice ultrasound tech a good profile shot, either had to be face down or suck on her thumb the whole time. Moved around a lot too, not helpful for images, but reassuring to us!

I'm ultra-excited. Matthew ordered our new camera the other day. We've been looking and doing research for a long time and have finally gotten it. I can't wait to take pictures. Today is my 30th birthday. This feels strange to say. I get a slight tightening in my chest when I think about the fact that I am now 30. This isn't like me, I'm a pretty logical person. I received a call last night that my step-mom's mother had passed away. Funeral is Friday. I have a friend flying here from KC tomorrow, and terrible weather in the area make my attending nearly impossible.
She was a very sweet lady, always nice to me. She will be missed.

I'm sure I learned as early as others, if not earlier, the fundamental fact that life is not, in any way shape or form, remotely fair. This is a fact we live with everyday; our mere existence on this planet, definitely our social status, whether good or bad, is not fair. That's the way things are.
