Ok loves, here's the first drabble in response to your Fourth of July requests. Many more to come, as I am working dilligently between fielding office calls (yes, it never ends). This one's a bit cracked-out, so enjoy. ;)

The witchdoctor, jolly-old what’s-his-profession (if I hear, “Dammit, Jack, I’m a doctor, not a soothsayer/bricklayer,/pied-piper,” one more time, I’ll walk the plank meself

Heeeeee! I love this - Jack does not appear in the least bit fazed by the encounter, as of course he wouldn't be. Except for the rum. Naturally, he's found a companion soul in Scotty, god rest him.

This is hilarious, love - thank you!

Now, if someone can just explain Jack's obsession with sea sponges and glue....

So glad you enjoye dit, darlin! I read the words "Captain's Log" and seriously could not resist the urge for Trekkie-fun. I grew up on Star Trek as my mom is quite the fan, and the whole thing just struck me as hilarious.

As for the sea sponges and glue: you know, I asked the elephant what the deal was, but he said we had to wait for the sequel. ;)

I'm getting this perverse image and it won't go away - beam me up, Scotty. And of course the sequel will be a disappointment - they'll show us the elephant, but only in the background, and he won't get to interact with anyone or resolve his angst, and there will be sponges everywhere, but no glue, and....sorry.

The strange glowing box that serves as a replacement for the galley - “replicator” that Scotsman called it - has yet again failed to produce a palatable sip of rum - not even a droplet worth tasting, although what’s-his-name with the pointed ears assures me that rum can be had with the proper calibration of said buggering device.

LOL!! That was great! I've been a Trekkie for forty years, faithful through all its iterations, but the Original Series still remains my favorite (though TNG got better in its later seasons). This was excellent, and hilarious. Many thanks to you, and to djarum99 for requesting it!

We had a crossover challenge on Black Pearl Sails one time, and I wrote of a similar encounter in Captain's Log 1690. So much fun!

So glad that you got a giggle out of this, love! I couldn't resist myself, having great love for Star Trek thanks to the tutelage of a veteran Trekkie (my mom) myself. I read your fic and it was amazing! Seriously, it was really wonderful and hilarious. :)

Thanks for reading, love!

the scalawag with the Scottish brogue and a penchant for drink. Decent fellow.

LOL... I see you've had the pleasure of meeting me very own granddad...
This is so out there, I love it! Strictly a Picard girl, myself, though ;-)

It looks like you've hit your stride, girlie! The muse is back, possibly a bit contorted, but certainly in fine feddle.

Was a trekkie myself, back in 19nevermind. Couldn't ever get a grasp on the sequels, but always a great fan of the originals.

I'm wrestling with my own mental images of Jack and Mr. Spock having a conversation over...what was that green stuff Spock liked to drink?

It's a prompt I would have cringed away from, but you handled it like the true, creative, free-thinking soul that you are.

Thank you so much for sharing! Kerry

Thanks for reading and having a giggle! I couldn't resist a little silliness (must have been the tequila).

You know, I was trying to remember the name of that green stuff myself. It's not Romulan Ale, is it? Hmmm...
