(I've been away for a long time, but I need the creative juices to flow and here is where I get my fix.)

Title: Drive
Universe: Stargate Atlantis AU
Character(s): Rodney McKay
Prompt: M - Mileage
Word count: 154
Total points: 2

Rodney never liked driving. He hated flying more, be it by plane (because he knew HOW the physics works) or puddle jumper (Ancient technology failed at the worst times and he was really bad at it too). But in the last five months he’s put a lot of mileage on his frequent flyer miles and on various rental cars all over the United States.

Driving from Colorado to Montana gave him time to think. It wasn’t always a good idea, but he learnt a lot about himself in that time. He was rude, he was arrogant, he was a genius and yet he couldn’t have stopped the Ancients from kicking them out of Atlantis. So much for genius.

Approaching some town from the south took him past a wind farm and he thought it a good idea to stop and get some coffee. Judith Gap. What kind of name was that for a town?

Universe: Original: The Phantom
Characters: Roz, Faye/The Phantom, Cathleen
Prompt: D: Disapprove +1
Word count: 141
Total points: 1

“I want you to know” Cathleen starts very firmly, her arms crossed angrily “that I disapprove of this and will play no part in it.”

Roz simply watches on with wide eyes, she never gets involved with Cathleen and Faye’s arguments... Just sits there and watches them unfold, content in the knowledge that both of them will blow themselves out eventually.

Except it isn’t really a argument this time, Faye is far too bruised to argue and is (stupidly she knows) going out to get even more bruised, to save even more people from the big bad Masks and their reign of terror.

She fixes up her robe one last time and then slips out through the wall… Leaving Cathleen to rage and Roz to stare at her.

She has work to do after all, she can’t worry about Cathleen’s disapproval.

Title: What to do?
Universe: Stargate Atlantis AU
Character(s): Rodney McKay
Prompt: Diarist +3/Disclose +2
Word count: 163
Total points: 7

Dear Diary,

Rodney snorted at those words. He felt like a teenager again, confiding his innermost feelings to a piece of paper.

Do I tell Megan of my relationship with John? Will she think I’m not interested in her after all - which I am. The last few weeks made me understand that I wasn’t getting what I wanted from that selfish bastard.

Sure, I loved him, but he discarded me like a week old newspaper for reasons I cannot fathom. Was it that he found a way back to Atlantis and didn’t want to tell me about it? Did he not want me there?

The talk with Jeannie helped and now that the purchase of the ranch is in the works, I feel I can finally get on with my life. Now I need to decide how I’m going to fit new people into my world.

Will Megan still be part of it if I tell her about John? I really hope so.

Universe: Original: The Phantom
Characters: Faye/The Phatom, The Masks, Roz, The Moth, Amber
Prompt: G-N: H: Hesitate +2
Word count: 120
Total points: 3

She hesitated the first time she had to kill somebody; it cost her two broken fingers and bruised ribs not to mention a short stay in the hospital.

She hesitated the first time she fought with the red mask, in hindsight that had cost her Roz who had seen Faye’s desire to not cause pain and who had taken it as a desire not to help her.

She had hesitated to knock out The Moth the first time she had to, if she had not hesitated a lot of lives (and maybe even Roz’s) could have been saved.

And when she hesitated to use her full Phantom form… She had nearly killed Amber with her stupidity.

After that Faye never hesitated again.

Universe: Original: The Phantom
Characters: Jenny/Fractal
Prompt: F: Fractal +3
Word count: 109
Total points: 6

Jenny stood on a bridge, her hair free in the wind, her mask in her hand.

The things The Phantom had said… The questions, the near pleading… She had never wanted to be a villain really… But considering that father was on the run from the law and mother was a big name in some distant city in America she really had no choice in the matter.

But could she forsake everything her parents had ever taught her? Become just Jenny the normal girl instead of the super villain Fractal?

…Maybe tomorrow, there were banks to see first.

She donned her mask again and slipped into two… There, perfect.
