Perhaps it was slightly twisted of her but she loved the feeling of freefall, loved not being in control and plunging to a unknown fate… It made her feel happy.
Besides, she couldn’t get hurt anyway if she had time to use her powers and it gave Cathleen more things to worry about.

“She’s a pompous, unreliable fool” Cathleen raged as they walked home “why should we let her join?”
Faye’s head was down and she answered in a whisper “because everybody deserves a second chance Cathleen, perhaps if The Moth had been allowed one Roz would still be..”
There was a long pause and then both of them started to cry together.

“I’m ravenous” Amber yawns, collapsing besides Jenny “Matt’s nice but he has no idea that girls need food.”
Cathleen and Faye glowered at her, Amber simply gave them a big grin and stole Faye’s bread roll… Jenny was holding back giggles at the whole scene and when she and Amber exchanged a glance the task became even harder.

“Are you thick?” Cathleen snarled, dragging Faye away from the burning building “The Phantom could save them all but you can’t Faye!”
“I could if you’d let me” Faye muttered, trying to drag her arms away “I have to try.”
“We could try” Amber muttered softly, stepping forward and studying the flames “But there are too many to...”
“Are you both thick?” Cathleen growled, still keeping her hold on Faye “We can’t save...”
And then a loud voice cried “Never fear! Fractal is here!” And several girls who all looked exactly the same flipped over their heads.
A long moment of silence and then Cathleen sighed loudly “Right, she’s definitely thick.”

Jenny simply sat across from them and smiled faintly “do you both have a crush on her or something?”
…It really was far too amusing watching them fall out of their seats to try and deny it.
