I would very much like a card - my life is facing so many changes with upcoming motherhood, and I'm a little nervous about it. Will I be a good mom? What does it mean for my art and writing?
Oh, yay! I am SO GLAD that I pulled this card for you!
The Cassowary is a warrior, but a defender, not a hunter. It is the male cassowary that builds the next, hatches and raises the young, and while I think it is possible that your partner may play a big role, I actually think this card is telling you that you will be able to have your cake and eat it too; you are strong enough to know when to work and when to parent and you will do both well. These birds are the "gardeners of the forest", eating a wide variety of seeds and spreading them far and wide with their roaming. This reminds me of your many wonderful projects that serve as seeds from which other talents blossom, and I believe these will continue to be successful, and allow you to blossom as well. The cassowary is the true picture of the tribal native; three dimensional and complex, strong and nurturing, of both family and earth at the same time...and I think this is an excellent description of you as well. Yay for good news!
Nope! Woodpecker it is. Have you considered drumming? I get a vision of you as a drummer. I also think the deep sense of dryness that is linked to this bird is a message for you.
Your two cards are Wren and Owl. Wren is the bird of magic, but also of work, craft, and woodwork/carpentry. Wren is also representative of the power working behind the big, obvious leaders, the "power behind the throne", as it were. Owl represents the feminine in the broader perspective, vision (including seeing into the darkest corners of people's souls), wisdom, subtlety, handicrafts, balancing many things at once, strategy. Wait, watch, learn, then act swiftly. The owl is, like women, often wrongly maligned. I hope there's helpfulness in there for you!
Your first bird is Penguin. The message it has for you is "never thought you had it in you!"; also, you may be hobbled in one way, but fly in another; it's all a matter of perspective.
As to your writing, Goldfinch brings flashes of insight, usually sudden, bright, and complete, though sometimes elusive, and might speak of sudden discovery of a hidden choice.

I'd love a card draw. Hmmm... I don't have a specific query though. I guess I'm just curious which bird in your deck has something to say to me :)

Thank you soooo much!
Glad you have had a good day... (after I'm done paying medical bills for the next year, I may be able to afford to pay you!)

Probably about career stuff. Currently in the process of breaking into a new industry.

Edit:
I too have reposted this page on my lj.
And strixluna pointed me here.
