I've had some health issues in the last couple of months, and am currently in recuperation mode after an operation. So I've been catching up on some QAF reading
( Read more... )
Well, exactly. And speaking of Coup de Foudre, it's probably time for me to re-read that. It's not as if I don't have the time at the moment, after all.
Absolutely. There would have been no "L Word" without the success of QAF. It's not even as if the only love scenes, etc in QAF were between the boys. The girls got their chances to sizzle as well.
Here my little secret… The only reason I want Brian and Justin together is because it’s what Brian wants. My favorite stories are the ones where Justin grows to deserve Brian. People behave like they are treated. ie Ted. Brian treated him like he was capable and he became worthy of being a friend and CFO. All the rest have no real expectations of Brian other than to be a fuck up. Yet think his success is because of them. End of Rant 🤷🏼♀️
Can totally see where you're coming from. I think that Justin at his best is good for Brian. He challenges him and he won't settle for anything less than his best efforts.
People behave like they are treated. This. Very much this.
It goes back to why I have loathed Mikey since 101. He flat out lied to Emmett. Brian had said, "stay there, get laid" but he told Emmett that Brian had begged him to go to the hospital. And you just know that it's not the first time that Mikey has done this, painted Brian as the villain so everyone would be ever so sympathetic to poor little Mikey. So Emmett (and everyone else Mikey pulls this stunt with - Ted, Mel, Deb, probably even Lindsay) believes Brian is an asshole so that's how they treat him. And in self-defense, it becomes how he behaves. And so much of it based on Mikey's lies and self-delusion.
Right? Mikey runs around telling every one Who Brian is. What they can and can not expect from him. And he didn’t just lie. He kinda keeps Brian in his place. The whole your relationship isn’t real because it doesn’t look like mine. After years of encouraging destructive behavior.
Then, after years of this vicious cycle.. Mikey decided Brian was an unredeemable whore and no longer wanted him around “his” family. WTF??
The whole ‘Brian‘s incapable of personal growth’ really made me angry.
