Homecoming #38: Miracles and Mariners

May 12, 2012 21:31

Hi everyone. I know I've kind of been missing in action lately. The major project I've been working on for the last few months is just reaching its deadlines. As usual, the client has missed every single deadline set for the stuff we need from them to be able to pull everything together, but we, of course, are still expected to meet our original ( Read more... )

Wren, you posting this has made my night. I loved Brian's snarkiness, the appearance of Mysterious Marilyn and even the conversation with Dan. Everything is coming together brilliantly. The sailing scene at the end made me so happy - and Brian even more so. There is so much pride and love there and there is nothing that he wouldn't do to keep them safe.
I hope that all goes well with the project at work and I am already looking forward to more.

Thank you.

Yes. I think the list of things I would like Brian to have in his life includes the ability to see how what he gives to Gus and Justin enhances their lives; to truly understand that just by being himself and giving himself the freedom to live out his feelings for them he makes their lives so much better and brings them real joy and happiness.

FABULOUS chapter!!!

I loved every minute of it through both Justin and Brian's eyes as they set up their new life together... with Gus!

Yay for a tolerant principal.

It was fun to read how Marty/Mysterious Marilyn knew exactly what would work for them all. lol

Thanks, C. I had no idea Brian's retail consultant was MM until it happened. But then it made absolute sense, because they were definitely going to need the touch of a magic wand to get agreement so quickly on what they wanted and somehow get it all delivered over the weekend. LOL.

Wren thank you for posting another chapter of this wonderful fic. I loved how Brian has so much inner dialogue :) that is both snarky and amazed. Brian's look at his sonnyboys is wonderful because he enjoyed it and did not question his role in their lives. Hugs Chris

Thanks, Chris. Have been meaning to email you. But life truly has been hectic. Plus I'm having some RL issues - nothing dramatic, just time consuming. You know how that goes.

As for Brian - well, as you know, the thing that I wish most for Brian is that he'll find ways to believe in himself - especially to believe that he can make both Justin and Gus happy; or (because I don't believe anyone should be totally held responsible for another's happiness) at least, that he's a positive influence in their lives, not a negative one.

So in my world, that's the big Brian change that's being allowed to happen.

I think we saw glimpses of it in canon, but it kept getting either trodden on, or somehow made irrelevant by things like the moves to Toronto and NY. Here, we get to explore how Brian might continue to grow and develop (the way people do, given such life-changing opportunities).

Glad you're enjoying.

Thanks, Cindy.

I wanted Brian to really get to feel the joy of being able to be a decent partner and father without being dumped on, or letting his own self-doubt undermind him; even if just for a few moments.

He will remember. And it will give him more confidence to meet whatever the next challenge is. I think that self-acknowledgement is the positive reinforcement Brian needs most.

Thanks, Kim.

Am on the Cologne countdown now. Madly trying to fit in everything I need to do before the trip.

Glad you enjoyed this little part of that activity. *g*
