One of my goals this summer was catching the feral cats out back to prevent the local fisher cats from making them dinner.  Unfortunately, papa cat was FIV positive, so he did not come back.  Last night I heard the trap trigger and lo and behold, the kitten was in there.This is the last remaining kitten from last summer's litter born under my shed

you said you often spay young cats...when do you think the best time to do mmale kittens is?Does it matter?

I recommend neutering at 5-6 months with most cats. This cat is about a year old and obviously has been bred, so she is overdue.

we've been sorta looking for a cat for a couple of years now. Mainly so we can get a control over the local rodent population. I'll check with the others in the house and see if they are still interested. (Mom just out of hospital, so things are up in the air right now. )

Good luck with finding orangey a home. I already have a spazzy orange cat. :D That is very odd that she's a she. Typically (from a non-scientific standpoint) orange is boy, calico is girl. I guess there are exceptions to every rule, eh? :D

Calico boys are much more rare - but I have met one.
