After we got home...

I finished the library curtain. I think it looks terrible, Emily doesn't see anything wrong with it. What do you guys think?

I like it! And it looks really good with that window.

Thanks! Nobody but me is seeing anything wrong- I think I must be seeing it because I know it's there, not because it's visible.

Great style, possibly wrong colors. Looking at the picture, the rest of the room feels warm - gold/copper/brass and wood and green. The drape looks black and silver, and feels overly dramatic. Maybe the same style in a dark, dark green with gold or copper trim?

The drape is actually a dark dark green and the trim is leaves. I am thinking I should rip the trim off...

Maybe try turning the drape around, with the trim hidden, before you do the work? I think you might be right about the trim, but it would save time to check and be sure the drape is the right shade without the contrast of the trim to make it look more extreme.

I'm with Emily. I mean, I'm not there to see it upclose but I did blow up the picture to full screen and still saw nothing wrong with it.

The trim slipped on me so much it looks like I was roaring drunk when I put it on. Although maybe not when it's actually hanging- which is what I was asking, thank you!

It looks perfectly even. I love this! You should post this to the our_bedrooms LJ community!

Thank you for the compliment! I don't know if this would be appropriate though since it's in the library...

Don't worry. It's just the name. People post photos of any kind of room. Yesterday someone showed the before and after partial remodel of her bathroom. :)

LOL! The perhaps I should show the whole house as I get it finished. So far I only have the bathroom, sewing room and my room that I'm actually done with.

I think it looks great, but if it bothers you, so what someone else above suggested: turn the drape so the trim doesn't show and see how you like it /before/ doing all the remove-work.

I think i will try that- although if I decide that it needs the trim I am absolutely going to have to redo it by hand.
