In about an hour, I will head out to my big meeting for Roots of Empathy. Over the summer, I took a course and became a Roots of Empathy instructor. It's a fantastic program that proactively eliminates bulling by teaching kids empathy ( Read more... )

The meeting went really well. My heart sank when I saw the pages of notes that Martha Mom had written and that she had rearranged the presentation and added a ton of stuff, but we just went with it and it went really well.

The teachers are so keen and on-board and passionate about helping their kids - it's really wonderful. One teacher, a 25-year veteran with a rep of being really strict and tough, actually broke down and cried in the meeting! She was so moved and grateful that now she had something to help all those kids that were having such a rough time.

With luck, next week, I get to meet the real teacher - the baby!
