I can understand what you mean on the Japan thing. When I was younger I just wanted to go because of the whole "kawaii" type thing. That sort of rubbed off and now I want to go Hong Kong.

Wow, your Mom sounds a little weird. I know my Mom would never approve of me just handing my address out, not like I tell her who I talk to. But that's how I did meet my penpal Nicole since we had to exchange addresses. I think that's the best way to test if someone lives where they say they live, write them first and if they reply they must live in that country! Unless of course they are some type of secret agent type person and can intercept the letter at any point. O.o
