How do I warrior?

SO. I had an account to use for a scroll of resurrection, and I had this great RP concept for a fighter character, and I thought-- Hey self, you're an experienced raider and a competent end game player! So what if you've -never- played this class, you can figure it out ( Read more... )

I will probably -ultimately- go tank on him, since my primary playing partner is a disc/holy priest. But I'd rather not give her a heartattack trying to keep me upright. >.>

A lot of Arms warriors - not all, though - are using macros to incorporate stance-dancing into the rotation. By switching to Berserker stance you increase the damage of certain abilities (Colossus Smash, Mortal Strike, Slam, Heroic Strike, and Execute) by 5%. That being said, stance-dancing requires that you have good latency because if you lag too much it can really throw off your rotation ( ... )

I typed that reply in between pulls during a heroic run so some of the info might be wrong (typos etc. XD) but the general idea should be there, and that guide is pretty good too. :D I hope it helps!

It was perfectly legible, and if anything's incorrect... I will assume it was my misunderstanding, no worries! :D

If things still go the way they did in wrath, I'd go arms first until you had really good gear, then blast them as fury. I can help you more if you went tank though :(

Yeah, I'm going to wait before trying to go tank. I need to gear up first.

5k DPS in leveling gear/heirlooms at 82 is not bad though?

Is it? I keep seeing people saying they did 10k at 80 and blah blah, so I am looking at both my 82s (because I am leveling a 2nd hunter for some insane reason) and going D: because they're both pulling 5-6k in dungeons.

... I feel somewhat less like a suck then! Thank you! :)

Sorry I didn't respond again earlier! Anyway yeah those people are dumb. I mean sure you could hit 10k in ICC with the 30% buff on rotface or whatever - so what? That was a raid-geared toon, in a raid, doing raid boss encounter stuff like blowing CDs and getting bloodlusted. @.@

When I first hit 85 on my hunter and got into heroics, I was doing 10-12k and I rocked the DPS meters. Like I would be on top by 10-20% of the party's total damage done. I ran into one rogue that competed with me in the really super-early times. 5k at 82 in greens is totally fine. =x

Keep in mind that when you level up, you need more of each stat on your gear to get the same amount on your character sheet. So the minute you hit 81, your stats actually drop below what they were when you were level 80, until you get some better gear to make up for it. The thing is the gear doesn't increase at the same rate, so it will be quite a while before you get enough gear to get your stats back up that high. I remember being so excited about having over 30% haste on my shadowpriest at 80, then when I hit 81 it went down into the low teens and didn't make it up past 30% again until probably Firelands level gear.

Plus yeah, most people at 80 were doing less than 10k without the ICC 30% buff.
