Race change and heirlooms

Hi all, I'm new to the community. *waves* I just started playing Wow back in March, so I'm still fairly new to the game. I have a couple questions I'm pondering. I have a level 42 worgen rogue that I'm considering changing to another race. If I did, which Allied race would be a good choice? I'm planning on PvPing with her, so would that affect ( Read more... )

leveling: heirloom, rogue: general

worgen is a fairly good race for a rogue, but if you want to primarily pvp, i'd suggest either human or gnome. humans are the go-to pvp class for a lot of people because of the free pvp trinket ability every man for himself. gnomes have a good advantage in pvp due to their small size making them much harder to target, plus gnomes have a short-blade specialization which is great for rogues! they also have the racial "escape artist" which is very similar to EMFH [tooltip reads: Escape the effects of any immobilization or movement speed reduction effect. 1.5 sec cooldown]. night elves are also a great race for pvp since they have an increased chance to dodge attacks, but i still think human/gnome is best.

as for heirlooms, i'd buy every single heirloom that provides an XP buff [hat, cloak, shoulders, chest] and then grab weapons if you've got the time/energy to farm the points to buy them.

I'd have to agree. If you're going to PVP, human. That way, you don't need to get a trinket, which means more damage.

Also, if you're picking up heirlooms, it would be super quick to level a new rogue than race-change your current one, and save yourself the fee!

Yeah, this right here. Plus, since cata, the 1-60 grind is soo fast, even without heirlooms. Imo, just reroll.

The guild vendor heirlooms will take you all the way to 85, the rest stop at 80 iirc. The XP granting ones would be my priority. If you level in dungeons a lot, you can probably stay supplied with good weapons.

That being said, my current alt has *everything* including the Dread Pirate Ring, so I guess go for as broke (or not) as you feel you can afford :-)

Races: Rogues are actually really nice as worgen because of the worgen dash ability. If you happen to be carrying a flag or need to escape, you have two abilities to let you do so-- or to get far enough away to use Vanish ( ... )

Oh, and the head/back pieces are good, too (from guild vendor), but only if you have the money. Remember, they cost gold while the JP vendors only charge you JP for the gear. If you can afford the JP pieces AND have the gold for the head/back, you should go for them all. But 10% XP for the chest/shoulders is way better than the 5% for head/cloak.
