Sometimes, doing the right thing just stings.

The other day, our guild took down Cho'Gall. We had been working on him before the patch getting him to about 20% health before wiping (essentially, we saw the last phase, then would wipe ( Read more... )

I agree that it was the fair and correct thing to do, that though it would have been as much of an upgrade for you as him, you were willing to recognize his selfless contributions and placed his need above yours -- and, in all fairness like regen said, you'd already gotten a piece of loot from the same boss, and I think more would have looked greedy for all that no one would likely have disagreed with the dice roll. He'll definitely remember your kindness long after those shoulders are vendored. Don't worry, loot will drop again. :)

I don't think anyone would have faulted me for keeping the shoulders. It was a winning roll of 94 (and he rolled a "4"). And our guildees are pretty selfless in a lot of ways.

But, I'd rather him be happy and be glad he stayed with us, than me being happy with new shoulders.

Think of it this way. In a few months when there's a new patch, or new expansion, or whatever, you won't even remember that piece of loot and you'll have something a lot better. But I bet you'll remember your friend's happiness for getting that piece of loot for a long time. Sad that it stings a bit now, but good for you for passing it up. I'm sure you'll get the good will with loot back again soon.

Grats! We just down Cho'gall too after working on him and getting to the last phase every time. My guild's main issue was just getting us all together but man, we have tons of fun when we do get together!

In Wrath I let a couple of huge upgrades go to other guildiess=. It always stung a little but I was still extremely happy. One lady in particular was much better DPS than I and I always wanted her to get upgraded faster. I always felt a bit guilty when I took a few things first instead. lol XD

That was definitely the right thing to do. You thought of someone else over yourself and that's just awesome. I bet you made his night. Well done, and grats on the kill!

My guild regularly does stuff like this, so to me it's no big deal. But I recognize how much it means to others. That's why it always feels so good :)

Very nice. I've had times where I felt like I should give up loot to someone else for very similar reasons. I've always been very passive with loot though. At least when it comes to guild runs or any raids ( ... )

(I cannot for the life of me find a ranged weapon with strength.)

Save up your VP and purchase the new thrown weapon ASAP!

I jumped the gun there. D: I don't do much to get Valor points so it'll take a while.
