Rep Grind Advice?

Feb 07, 2011 17:06

I'm a bit of a Reputation nut. I started out just wanting the shiny rep-required mounts and pets. But now I want to be Exalted with most factions just for the sake of being Exalted with them. Guess i'm collecting Exalted faction status along with the pets and mounts now ( Read more... )

Please be careful of the sites you use for finding out such information as there are a lot of harmful sites which can drop malicious code onto your PC. My advice would be to use WoWhead. Lots of rep grind info there. I'll put in the link for the cata stuff and you can easily search the site for pre cata info.

http://www.wowhead.com/blog=176361/cataclysm-reputations-guide-vendors-rewards-and-more

Simply scroll down look at each faction section.

Happy rep grinding :)

Yeah, wowhead is my go-to site. The risk of spyware and hackers keeps me from Googling blindly for resources.

Did not know about that particular link you've got there, though. Handy thing.
I'm at the point where tabards are my only/best way to get rep for Cata factions i'm lacking. And the TB dailies, of course...which I rather hate due to everyone else doing them at the same time.

The PVP factions take forever. Our mage spent about 8 months solid grinding the Justicar title, as Alliance when the Horde dominates us. I'm not sure how far she was when she started, however.

You can actually buy junkboxes for the Ravenholdt grind, but it is easier with a rogue. You can check tradechat or your forums for them. I should think it will be fairly pricey, however ( ... )

Shen'dralar's gone? Huh...didn't realize. It still shows under my reputations list. Now i'm suddenly wanting to go into Dire Maul and see how the place has changed.

That useless crap the alts gather while leveling...suddenly it's looking useful. *makes note to save the stuff for Darkmoon Faire rep*

It still shows up but is rep is no longer attainable, the Libram turn ins that got you to exalted were taken out of the game. Caused a great fuss for those of us working on The Insane title till they changed the way it worked and took out the Shen rep, which I'd already finished by the time they'd announced it's removal.

There's one BC instance that gives Consortium rep! I think it's Mana Tombs. Other than that, yeah, it's the warbeads for Consortium.

Yup, ManaTombs. You can also collect the keys and turn them in, but that's easiest in conjunction with ManaTombs. It's pretty easy to solo as an 85. that way you can save your warbeads for Mag'har rep.

Heroic Mana Tombs, Warbeads, or the insignias found south of Area 52.

Heroic MT is really not bad; it's not hard to solo if you have any healing ability at all, and it's a good chunk of rep. Kill everything - it all gives you rep. Don't forget to loot; netherweave and the miscellaneous greens can be sold or DEed. :)

I got to exalted in one evening, just grinding the mobs south of Area 52. They drop a lot of the insignias, plus keys. Don't give in the keys though, use them to open the cages, overall that will give more rep :)
I ignored the warbeads completely for that one, got way too sick of them while grinding for my goats :P

Have you finished all the new quest areas in Cata? Saves quite a lot of dungeon running time :P Plus don't forget all the different dailies they have to offer.
I think I'm exalted with mostly everything I could solo or two-man in game at the moment, my few exceptions are the pvp factions, the Black Temple faction and the Bloodsail Buccaneers. Wowhead.com is your best friend here: just search for the faction you feel like grinding and go through the comments.
For Brood of Nozdormu you'll have to run AQ40. A lot. That's extra mounts right there though. To save some time, a bunch of us just cleared trash, killed the first boss, cleared trash up to the second one, waited for things to reset, rinse and repeat. Up until some point you get rep for simple trash kills, plus everything there drops items for repeatable quests that give you even more rep. Once you get sick of trash runs just clear the whole thing (we 5-6 manned everything but the last boss easily on lvl 80).
While I was grinding for the Insane I used the guide here: http://wow.... )

Very helpful to know some numbers on full-clears 'til Exalted. Thanks.
And my guild has indeed unlocked extra rep perks. Currently we've got the +10% rep thing going on. It does indeed help, though I keep forgetting to factor it in when calculating how much is required for a rep grind.

I'm a Loremastering nut. I've done every quest I can for Cata content. Thus for the Cata factions i'm at the point where a tabard in dungeons is my only way to get rep. Well, also need TB but I hate those dailies so I tend to avoid doing them. They'll get done eventually. I'm too OCD not to get that rep.

Brood is AQ40...check. Not as many peeps interested in running that raid so i'm not sure how boss-killing will go. But that beginning trash should be easy enough. I'll have to see if I can bribe the guildies into helping.

This community doesn't seem to have much with the Insane tag atm. I guess the big tag restructuring they did wiped the older posts' tags, 'cause I know there used to be more than just three posts.

Bookmarked. I'll poke at it more when i've got time to just sit down and plot for a few hours. I do my best plotting early in the morning, with a cup of cocoa and a warm cat biting my fingers. (She's evil.)
