Reading advice

OK, so I finally caved and got myself the Arthas: rise of the Lich King. I've only kept half an eye on the lore while playing, and it was really good to get a bit more background on various characters and how situations in the current game came to be. I like some people a LOT more, some I understand a bit better, and a few I now dislike intensely ( Read more... )

I enjoyed the War of the Ancients trilogy. It had a lot of backstory for Malfurion, Tyrande, and Illidan, and also the fall of the hight elves and Queen Azshara. I found them to be very engrossing reads.

I thought Lord of the Clans was just ok. The author's writing has definitely improved since then. Rise of the Horde was excellent.

Thanks for this post~! I just read Rise of the Lich King myself and was looking for another Warcrafty book, myself, so I like to see lots of opinions.

Tides of Darkness is good if you want to know about the second war. It's not the greatest writing; rather simple to be honest. But it's not at all bad. It's pretty straight forward and to the point: these are the things that happened in the second war.

It does give a lot of insight to Turyalon though, and to a lesser extent, Lothar. I enjoyed it.

I've liked all the novels, so I would recommend them all.. I OWN them all. Just bought Stormrage today too..
