Faramir will not go far into the woods. He was warned about them on his arrival, and, although he has no doubt in his own skills as a ranger, he arrived with no weapons and a wound that still is not entirely healed. So he forgoes any urge to examine them more closely for now and instead sits on a large rock near enough to the woods, but within easy ( Read more... )

The Merlin is on his way out of the woods, actually, robes flaying in the gentle summer wind, and his face is quiet, almost at peace. He may be on his way to looking for his housemate, actually, and will nod politely at the young scholar as he passes him by.

Faramir almost doesn't notice him, caught up as he is in his reading, but he returns the nod once he does. Although he has never met the other man, he feels familiar. "Good day to you."

The Merlin certainly has things in common with Gandalf, though his meddling is usually less successful and much more angst-inducing. This is a good day, however, and so he smiles. "Fine day, is it not, m'lad?"

He calls everyone that, so it is hardly surprising that he would do so a stranger.

"It is indeed, sir." The resemblance to Gandalf -if not in looks, then in general wizardness- is more than a little odd and catches him a bit off guard. He has never met any other wizards.

"I might've known I would find you here," his brother says, sitting down beside him without further greeting or invitation.

"Am I that easy to guess?" Faramir asks, not lifting his eyes from the book.

"Well, I heard someone complaining that the entire library had gone missing," he laughs with a glance at the stack of books, "so I knew you had to be nearby."

"A small library," he remarks, smiling over the pages at his brother.

now that his typist is not failing... valiantfinwe July 29 2009, 21:04:22 UTC
Fingon is not good at living a quiet life. Restless, he's been pacing around the grounds at least once a day for weeks now, wishing he had something to do. Something productive. However, it also means he's more open to talking to new people, even if he is a little bit overbearing sometimes.

Coming back to the Mansion, he eyes Faramir's stack of books. "I hope you're not trying to read all of those at once," he says, in a tone that's almost wry. But not quite. He's a little too serious for that.

*coughs*

Torn out of his reading, Faramir looks up. For the slightest moment he is visibly confused before he remembers where he is and that the elf in front of him did not spring directly from the book he is reading. "Not all at the same moment, my lord, but I do intend to read them all."

"As long as it's not at the same time," he observes, and examines Faramir a moment longer before inclining his head. "Good day, then, scholar."

Seeing as Fingon met Boromir when he arrived (however briefly), he may notice the similarities between the two during his examination. At the very least it's noticeable that Faramir isn't your average Edain.

"The same to you, my lord."

lolololol. >.> Let's try this again...

Elves like to stay active, and Feanorians perhaps even more so; we expect it's a byproduct of having been constantly at war for a very long time. At any rate, speaking of woods, it's probably a good thing Celegorm's family doesn't know he's been in them, looking for those very wolves. At least this time he brought a sword. However, coming out of the woods, he doesn't have any wolves, and is mildly distracted.

However, he would be glad to see Faramir again.

...back to not failing possibly?

Faramir would also be glad to see a familiar face again, but it takes him a while to notice someone else is there. After a moment he glances up, smiling slightly when he sees Celegorm. "How fare you, my lord?"

He smiles back, a slightly slow and less sure one, giving Faramir a surreptitious looking over, examining for any signs of lingering illness. "Well enough," is his answer, though, shifting his shoulders back, "And yourself?"

"The same. I do better than when I first arrived. My brother has seen to it that I do not injure myself." He smiles as he says the last, still pleased beyond words to have Boromir back.

Miranda, knowing no better, sees nothing rude about going to look at the pile of books this unknown man has collected, and when she comes out of the woods and notices him, she does just that-- kneeling down beside the pile and peering at the titles just as easily and casually as if she had been invited to do so.

He puts down his book for a moment and watches her, amused. "Have you found any there that interest you, lady?"

'All, my lord,' she says, not sensing his amusement. 'What lands are these you read of?'

"The past of my own land," he says, holding up the book he was reading before she interrupted him. Not that he minds, of course. "The others are of strange lands I have heard of since my arrival here. Chicago and Camelot."
