Good answer to a problem that cannon completely ignored. (Some days you'd think they wanted us to believe the Yarders really were incompetent.)

Thanks.
I just choose to believe that the Yarders love/need Sherlock enough to do things like this, and are waiting for him to realize it. Also, that these are the Yarders that Sherlock actually hangs out with, so they're probably the best the yard has to offer. If only believing made it so...

This is very clever, and not a little chilling. Very good!

Thank you.

Yeah, I work out my issues with canon in fanfic. I suppose it does come off a bit... dark? The show started it? Yeah, there's really no excuse.

Well, you are right - there would probably be a footprint, or some evidence of Sherlock's, er, enhanced interrogation techniques.(Why do we like this guy again? It can't just be the coat, can it?) So, as I said, clever. But still creepy

How tactful~ Why do I see that phrase ending up in Lestrade's case report after some unfortunate Sherlockian incident?

I may actually be incapable of doing fluff without a dash of either bizarre or creepy... (Manipulative bastards are desirable? And that neck of Benedict's? Mysterious superpower?)
Thanks again.

There's always something...
Thank you. I like competent!Lestrade. He's gotta be good at his job, even if everyone pales next to Sherlock. But Sherlock still needs protecting, mostly from himself. Lestrade often signs himself up for that job.

Who am I kidding, I love the Yarders as a tight-knit group that somehow found they'd adopted Sherlock.

Oh very clever!

I’d forgotten Sherlock probably did leave a footprint somewhere and this was an excellent fill the hole.

It probably sounds strange but I always figured if anything ‘disappeared’ it would be the ballistic report. Depending on what ammo John was using. Military and domestic ammo is very different. :)

Thank you.
Little details bother me. I know very little about ballistics, so I didn't really think of that. I always assumed that as long as they never found John's gun to test it against, the ballistics report would languish away. I didn't even consider that he might arouse suspicion merely by the type of ammo used.~ (Which may be a subtle hint towards wanting to see a fic about such matters...)
