Yesterday I thought it would be nice to barbeque some sweetcorn, and I was cutting the spikes into three pieces.

I did that once with secateurs and much to my surprise it grew back fingerprint and all, but possibly you took off more than me!

Ouch! It looks like you cut off quite a lot of the finger. Hope it's not too painful today.

The pain is not too bad as long as I don't do anything with the finger. Last night it was the little finger which hurt the most, which was totally uninjured...crazy neural pathways. :)

Whoa. Is there a chance that it will grow back or you took off too much for that?

I have to wait and see... The bone was visible, which made me feel a bit weird, but I am avoiding looking at it for the moment. :)

He was great, and very calm, although he admitted after that he would have made more fuss if it had been the other way round.
