December once again. Still the most favored song to sing is that of a man in a red suit. While Saint Nicholas or Santa is a paragon of goodness, its rather silly to miss that he gives gifts in reminder of the greatest gift for all mankind. Unless you can think of something greater than eternal salvation.

Here's one. The bloody sense to realize no one's born needing to be salvaged like waste.

There's a difference. Especially when waste is meant to remain so. Not the human soul. Although I think that your opinion is terrifically skewed.

Indulge me; how's that then?

Man in his existence on earth is given dozens of chances at salvation from the pits of hell. Inanimate objects have no such choice or even an afterlife. Much less do they have an importance.

For all of your self-involved activities I would think that you'd hold yourself to a greater self importance.

[Jadis awoke sometime last night, but immediately pulled her power around her like a cloak and fell into a sleep-like trance, not unlike that which she'd employed after the destruction of Charn. Although not nearly so deep.

Now she's awakened again, and opens her eyes to see the flicker of candle flames against unfamiliar walls.

Something is terribly wrong. But what?]

Where.

[Gabriel remained near, but not near enough to tell whether or not she was sleeping or awake. Merely near enough to be considered in her presence. The angel's very small personal quarters felt even more tiny. Especially with Jadis laid out upon the only bed and what amount of armor could be removed set aside.]

You're awake.

[Best approach slowly. Moving at such a pace also felt good. There was a terrific amount of tension in Gabriel's body.]

[Gabriel. At least Jadis can be somewhat assured that she's not in enemy hands. Still, it's not something that should ever be assumed, and she turns her head toward the voice, to watch the angel's approach.]

I fell.

[She can't bring herself to admit that she failed, that she was defeated. 'Fell' will have to suffice.]

[Oh but such a choice of words. Fell from a height that one would never think to fall from. It's such a small word. It makes Gabriel's missing appendages ache. No, no more of that. They are different people, different beings. No more of these thoughts.]

Yes.

[The candlelight gives Gabriel the illusion of a halo catching in the softly curled strands of gold as he finally stands at her side.]

Indeed, they were.

(OOC - watched Gabe collect Jadis and tailed the cart yesterday)

Eleventh hour turning of the tide was rather surprising.

Is she still with you?

Yes, that is an accurate description.

Perhaps.

Seeing so many Christmases there is a visible decline in its reserved holiness.

Temporary protection and happiness when you can have an infinite amount of both for the very same as far as what is asked of you?
