While Saint Nicholas or Santa is a paragon of goodness, its rather silly to miss that he gives gifts in reminder of the greatest gift for all mankind. Seeing so many Christmases there is a visible decline in its reserved holiness.

Today is the feast of the Immaculate Conception, and it's fairly well forgotten in the modern age. But yes, Christmas has lost a lot of it's meaning, and very quickly from the time I was a little girl.
