Americans Are Some Impatient Motherf**kers!

Here is the deal. The whole Massachusetts thing is worrisome a bit.  I wasn't going to comment on it, however I am hearing a lot of my liberal friends having heart attacks over it. In addition, since some of them have called me to complain about it, this is my official thought on the current climate.

Honestly, what did you expect? The first black ( Read more... )

Some points to consider:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/peter-daou/liberal-bloggers-to-obama_b_429031.html

Obama is letting his political operatives get in the way of his policymakers......

Letting Congress write health care reform was a mistake.. The GOP actively knew they could drag it out and time was on their side....

Not going after the Bush mess with rigor and then not going after the Banking industry/Wall Street aggressively muddied Obama's populism....

Let's not draw the wrong conclusions about where we are today (Dems)... there are things that can be fixed..we just need to have the balls to fight for what we stand for (and to properly communicate what we stand for to our base and supporters).......

I think Obama needs to realize that the Republican base is easier to control than his base. They are more homogeneous, therefore, easier to send out one strong message. Republicans do not have to work hard. They can yell "terrorist", "liberal", "taxes" and "socialist" and galvanize their army. Democrats think; therefore they question. It is hard to compete with mindless minions hanging on republicans' every word.

If Democrats want to exist in this political environment they need to work together on core values/policies...otherwise they will be eviscerated by the Independents/Conservatives in this country...

JC, this is just about the most irritating part of your entire post. You are here guilty of prejudice by lumping large groups of people whom you have NEVER met into groups based on party affiliation. I can show you equal numbers of people in BOTH parties who fall into either group. Making blanket statements like this calls into question the entire post.

Republicans have certain ideas, guns, death penalty, taxes. Basic foundation of all republican ideals, more guns, always stricter criminal penalties, and less taxes. Then you have a split on issues from abortion, war, social programs, etc. This is where you'll get die hard right wing sociopaths, and the log cabin Republicans.

Please explain "We elected Obama, then we poked one of his eyeballs out, blindfolded him, tied his hands behind his back". The man has a Democrat majority in BOTH houses.

Please, please, please stop playing the race card. Yes, there are people who dislike, even hate, Obama for being black, I'm not denying that, but its not that big of a group when all is said and done. You know damn well there are always groups who are going to hate any particular politician simply because he is NOT the right race, sex, religion, etc. Yes, there may be more of that in this case simply because he IS the first black man to hold this office; I'd be surprised if there WEREN'T any people who felt that way but the animosity being expressed so vehemently these days has nothing to do with race and everything to do with his policies; near nationalization of the auto industry, his support for the travesty that is the health "care" bill, his apology tour, his broken promises of "transparency" to name a few.

So explain how the "birthers" movement has nothing to do with his race. I didn't see people ravaging McCain about being born at the Panama Canal.

Didn't the nationalization of the Auto industry start with Bush?

The travesty of the health care bill is due to that Obama is trying to please everybody, which entails pleases nobody.

And I am referring to the extremely short leash Obama has compared to other presidents. To simply chalk up my thoughts as playing a race card, is to miss the point of what I typed. I am referring to specific instances like the "Birthers Movement", which is indeed racist any way you slice it.

Also, are you saying that the Republican party is more heterogeneous than the Democratic Party? If so, I need proof. Just because you have a black RNC Chairman, doesn't mean your party is heterogeneous. The numbers speaks for itself.
