ITEM! i was woken up bleary-eyed this morning (abt 5.00amish) by what sounded like elevator muzak/"smooth jazz" - at first i thort it was coming from a flat upstairs or next door - "what idiot is playing this racket at this hour?" - but then as i gradually woke up properly i realised it was coming from the downstairs of our very own flat - did we ( Read more... )

Grim predictability alert: I have stopped buying McCoys after their MAN CRISP advert thing (not that I ever buy them outside of PUBS anyway, but now PUBS which serve McCoys will not get my crisp based custom. I hope they will have Mini Cheddars instead). Grisp custom! I mean!! do I mean grisp gustom? Is that going TOO gfar??

i've not seen MAN GRISP advert (or it hasn't registered) - i hope the authorities aren't gonna stop me from buyin em cos i'm not manly enuff ( this happened to me with maynards wine gums last year - i was placed in a "no buy zone" ) - m&s sour cream & jalapeno grunchy combo mix are my number one fave but i have to ration myself - they come in a big bag & once it's been opened...

I discovered Tyrrell's "Duck, orange and ginger" crisps the other day. They don't taste much of any of those things but are quite delicious!

mmm, "duck, orange and ginger" - ta for the tipoff, they def.sound worth testing/tasting - i'll keep an eye out for 'em - i had parsnip, carrot & beetroot crisps with my organic ginger cordial during the eurovision s.c. - but they didn't last very long

See, I would have been disappointed cos I hate Salt and Vinegar crisps. Unless I'm cooking a pasta bake. I'm not planning on doing one for awhile so you can joy safe in the knowledge that I didnt get those salt and Vinegar crisps.

gotta ask: do you crumble the salt & vinegar grisps on top of the pasta bake to give it a nice crust...?

lots of people i know don't like salt & vinegar flavour - you're all mad mad mad imo - it goes v.nicely with a bit of ripe brie cheese - or even better w/a lot of ripe brie cheese

( yr copy of superf*ckers = in the post, btw )

yippee thanks for the superf*ckers dispatch. Mailing like a hug.

I do crumble the crisps on top of the bake followed by a grated cheese topping. Whenever I have too many crisps i put them as a base, filling and topping. My neighbour Michael doesnt like cheese and onion and so he throws packets at me in an affectionate manner. He likes salt and vinegar too.

I think there are THREE Sundays albs! Didn't they do a cover versh of Wild Horses on the 2nd alb - ompos!

That is a great story abt Lulu and the telly! My first cat Tiggy also liked to paw at the football ball on the family set. Funny, the things that the pusscats can and can't see. I forgot to tell you that I saw Gorbals on my doorstep the v. same morning that you posted yr luvly long review of the cat-hatin Who episode, COINCIDENCE I THINK NOT

Smooth Jazz - not really my bag, but it is def a neglected 'area' of the music - the whole aesthetics/politics of deliberate blandness and how the music of Kenny G is actually horribly INTRUSIVE, the v. opposite of wallpaper or whatevs, "nice" etc etc

Im not trying to be a big swanker or nuffink but I regularly get unannounced/unplanned extras in my pre-packaged goodstuffs - an unmanly man can virtually live off the extra fish finger here, a bonus twix bar there

now that you mention it i think i usedta have the sundays version of wild horses on a bside ( - i note delores from the cranberries is making a gomeback, i wonder if harriet from the sunds will follow suit? )

i used to "manage" a kenny g fan - he was always v.smartly turned out & a bit of a clean freak: he got very annoyed when roni size/reprazent won the mercury music prize iirc

the ecstacy of an extra bag of grisps was almost too much for me to bear - i think i'd explode w/joy ( & imagine the mess! ) if i got an extra fish finger, burger or birds eye potato waffle

hope all is well - it's GREAT to see charlemagne palestine & his toys back on my gomments pg ( - & luv to gorbals )

I think that Sundays b-side was on a "bargain" "cassingle" from the Palmers Green Woolworths.
