oh, I adored this. *contented sigh* Lots of wonderfully descriptive phrases, but I think this one is my favorite:

Not looking, Simon held Sandburg’s quivering leash, holding Ellison too, outside the room and theoretically uninvolved, at his desk simply with the set of his shoulders.

That was pretty damn cool, and I adore the idea of Simon turning Blair the Anthropolgist loose to analyse the PD. Because damnit, that's what an antrhopologist is for! So, so awesome...

I've always liked Simon as a character, but something like this really gives you a reason why we all respect him as a boss too. Loved it!

While it's true that I'm obsessed with J/B *g*, I like Simon very well as a character, and this was a good look at what makes him tick.

I've been looking at the "5 Things" concept for a while now, and it seemed to me to better fit Simon than J/B - at least, in terms of ideas I could come up with!
