I know exactly what you mean about school rules. I remember very clearly the one time in junior high I defied a teacher. It was a campus school and we weren't supposed to be in the classroom building unless the teachers were. However, one day while we were at lunch in the cafeteria, the temperature dropped significantly. After shivering for the first few minutes of recess, we went into the classroom building, got our coats, and returned outside. The teacher proceeded to give us a tongue-lashing for disobeying the rule. I seldom said anything (at all), but that made me so furious that I told her we went to get our coats because we weren't about to stay outside and catch cold or worse, and if she had a problem with that she should send us to the principal's office. She didn't say another word.

Although I do have to say that while I'm not in favor of dress codes, I do appreciate that my local high school has clothing guidelines that include no visible underwear and tops that meet bottoms.

Isn't it funny that dressing in too large hand-me-downs is now the style.
I am so grateful that I was an outsider and totally out of it. I didn't even know who was popular till I was a senior...
If I hadn't been so out of it I think I would have been a mean girl, so I am thankful for that.
