I took my first yoga class as a college freshman, back in the 1970s and felt comfortable almost immediately with the way yoga asks you to do what works for you and to find your own personal limits and stretch them, rather than trying to force yourself to find the same position as everyone else in the class. Monday afternoon I finally finished the latest round of revisions on StT.

This time the pants fit, thanks to a great critique partner at the March Novel Writing Retreat. Laurie Miller made a suggestion that allowed me to cut the extra-large pants down to size--StT is finally under 300 pages. What I have now looks a lot like Katherine Hepburn:

Sorry to be away so long, but between the end of the semester and travels, I couldn't squeeze in any blog posts, although I did manage a few tweets (@kquimbyjohnson). But while I was gone, I was refueling.

The last week of the semester. Champlain College runs compact, intense semesters--14 weeks plus finals, with one week off somewhere in the middle. The result is, we finish earlier than many colleges. --Once the semester is over, I've got to catch up on posts here. 1. After driving through snow, sleet, and rain-as well as sneet and slow-on Monday, I’m glad to see what passes for true spring arrive in the north country. The snowcover is shrinking daily as the thermometer stays more in the 40° range than the 30s.
