The pants are still baggy, but at the moment that's okay because...

The universe smiled. This afternoon's cup of Yogi Tea ginger was brewed from a bag whose tag read: "Be proud of who you are." That captures my main characters perfectly.

That was before I finished outlining!

The result:

Wow! And congratulations. It sure sounds like your ducks are lining up nicely (if I don't say your ducks are in a row, then I assume I get credit for avoiding a cliche).

It also sounds like your revisions are going to tighten the story the way you were hoping.

So far so good with the revisions leading to tightening, although inevitably little bits also need to be added.

Hope your writing is flowing.

Sounds great!

My villains are always heroes in an alternate universe. They usually start (before the book began, sometimes) with the best intentions and then become corrupted or get ruthless in pursuit of noble goals. I love them.

You are a wise woman! Given that I write contemp. realism, noble goals aren't always possible. Best intentions, though, are. That's a good reminder for me. Thanks!

"Do, or do not. There is no try."

Just keep your daily writing expectations low - like an hour, or a half hour. You can do that, yes?

Daily revisions may not be possible, simply because of other commitments. (Yesterday, for example, out of the house at 7 am, back at 4:45, but had to make salad for potluck supper evening meeting from 6-8 pm, after which, no brain cells to rub together.) But I do make regular commitments and put them in my calendar. Today, for example, I have the whole day available. This is simply my lunch break.

Revisions are definitely happening.
