Uh Oh!!

I just spent about 2 1/2 hours outside pulling poison ivy up by the roots.  The guy who put in the lawn seeded it well, but the fertilizer may have allowed a lot of other nasty things to take off.    The new part of the lawn is almost covered in poison ivy.  I don't know another way to be sure that it is dead other than to really make sure by ( Read more... )

Be sure to rinse the robber gloves in 1 part bleach and 2 parts water. Do not wash the cloth gloves with your clothing. You probably know all this...but you don't need the nick name 'Spot.'

They are disposable gloves, but thank you. The cloth gloves are still in the garage for round two. they would be the last things I pull on so hopefully it will all work out.

We just had a chuck it down, up and down lightening storm, with wind up here. Wow! It was unnerving, but I am hoping it softens the ground enough to go tear up more of that nasty stuff tomorrow.

That's OK. If I could make a good dent I will be happy. I wish I knew how it could just start on it's own on the lawn though. That doesn't make sense to me. I have no idea if it produces seeds or how.

Lawns seem to always bring problems of one or another kind. Our lawn consists mainly of moss. Not poisonous but not so nice either...
Hope, your garden will establish soon and only bring joy and relaxation to your life!
