I just spent about 2 1/2 hours outside pulling poison ivy up by the roots. The guy who put in the lawn seeded it well, but the fertilizer may have allowed a lot of other nasty things to take off. The new part of the lawn is almost covered in poison ivy. I don't know another way to be sure that it is dead other than to really make sure by getting rid of the roots. Even the sprays only kill above the ground and will take out my grass - not really a big issue at the moment. So now I am sitting here composing this waiting for my pink goop covered arms to do something exciting. I did put on an ivy blocker and had vinyl painting gloves on under my gardening gloves. I hope it helped.
There is almost no grass in this area.
Weeds and rocks.
The patch I worked on today. You can tell from this photo that the lawn looks healthier than the neighbors already established lawn, but unfortunately everything came up.
I am going to send these photos to the landscaper. It might help motivate him back into the area to fix this, or at least help fix this. Wish me luck. I am open to suggestions. If he doesn't choose to help I will have the better business bureau light a fire under him. I would be a little surprised by that though. I don't think he understands the extent of the problem.
Oh well, happy days everyone.
