The world continues to amuse me

I'm a little late getting into the Christmas spirit this year, but I'm getting there. I'm starting to think about baking cookies, anyway. My personal tradition seems to be baking cookies that Elora won't eat...she doesn't like gingerbread. That's OK, though; she likes to make Russian tea cakes, and while I don't reject those outright, I can take or leave them. Anyway, I try to get a little creative with my gingerbread guys, in years when I have the time, coming up with differing frosting patterns, just to be interesting. Elora showed me something yesterday that blows my efforts away:

Ninjabread men.

Tell me that's not awesome! Even the name is perfect! The proportions are just about right, too -- they're obviously ninjas (or martial artists of some stripe), and yet still clearly gingerbread men. There might be some danger of breakage with the high-kicking pose, but the others seem pretty safe, and anyway, if you're going to make ninjabread cookies, I think you have to accept some risk. I would totally make a whole batch of these this year...except they're sold out, everywhere on the planet. So instead of surprising people with festive baked ninjas this season, I'll have to settle for showing them to you online, and telling you that you can't have them. Scrooge would be proud.
