I'm a little late getting into the Christmas spirit this year, but I'm getting there. I'm starting to think about baking cookies, anyway. My personal tradition seems to be baking cookies that Elora won't eat...she doesn't like gingerbread. Bah, I have seen your jack-o-lantern skills. Would Martha Stewart give up just because she couldn't buy the cookie cutters online? Channel your inner Martha Stewart!

You can print the flattest version of the design you can find and cut it out to use as a template. You can "laminate" the templates with clear packing tape so they can be wiped off and reused. This is assuming you are making quantities of cookies limited to your and Sparky's consumption needs, as tracing a template with a knife gets old pretty fast.

Hmm, did I detect the sound of a gauntlet being thrown down? It's tempting, and we did once use such a method to make a whole slew of ginger-meeples. But my siblings and I have agreed on a "baked goods exchange" in lieu of presents this year, and I'm not sure I'm up for making quite that many ninjas. We'll see how it goes next week.
