Kyuu had a brilliant post on how sex CAN be awkward and it shouldn't always be perfect and I found myself nodding along and really thinking about what she was saying. Then, when she mentioned the challenge, I knew what I wanted to do with it. Of course, it's late... I fail at deadlines sometimes.

I liked this a lot. It's so nice to see fanfic sex that doesn't go perfectly! So often in romances bad sex is used to imply that a couple isn't right for each other, and amazing!fireworks!sex is a hallmark of true love forever. This has not been my RL experience. ;-)

In the concrit department, I thought the ending felt a tad abrupt -- I liked the idea of it (the sex didn't work out, but they still love each other and everything is okay), but I felt like there should maybe be another paragraph or something. Dunno. That said, I see that someone above loved it, so clearly mileage varies. :-)

Thanks! Sex isn't always perfect, after all. Kyuu had an awesome entry on this that really got me thinking. And actually, (to share WAY too much information), best boyfriend/fiance I ever had was kinda bad sex at the beginning.

Tee ending is abrupt, isn't it? The original intention for daily_deviant set the max word count at 800 and I'd hit 790 and realized that I wasn't going to get the sex in, which is why I kinda dropped that intention. Obviously I need to work on that in the future. I'm not very good at short fic, anymore.

This was so very real -- and as much as it's something I don't want to happen to the two, I often like when sex isn't perfect, when there are things that mar it. Then it seems much more real to me. *pets them*
