You could always make a trip north of the border to Canada. It's totally legal here. The government finally realized that they can't ignore committed loving couples or deny them the same recognition that other married couples already have.

From http://www.toronto.ca/marriage/index.htm

Citizenship/Residency
There are no citizenship or residency requirements when applying for a marriage licence in Ontario.

Gender
The City of Toronto issues marriage licences to all eligible couples. Same-sex couples have been receiving licences since June 11, 2003, following the June 10, 2003 Ontario Court of Appeal decision making same-sex marriages legal in Ontario.

Your problem is that each jurisdiction is going to require each of you to certify that you aren't currently married. You aren't going to be able to argure that yes, we are married in California, Connecticut and Iowa, but we are not married in the eyes of the United States. As far as each of those states are concerned, you are be legally married. You are entitled to the benefits that accrue to married people in the state in which you initially got married and you have to legally disolve it, if you decide to end the marriage.

Well, that's no fun...can't we go to Vegas to get divorced? Or Haiti?

You could go to a dude ranch in Reno like they did in The Women cause I'm guessing Becker and Fagin would be too busy to go to Haiti with you.

I don't know squat about legalities, but you two make a damn good couple, and 9 years is way better than most "straight" marriages last, so, as far as I'm concerned, you two are married in your minds and hearts - and that's where it really matters.

She favors "civil unions"...maybe. If she's gonna act like a republican, we might as well vote for a real one.

Getting married is a serious issue. I'd love to see you guys tying the knot. I'm lucky here to have that right. What's more, one of the few places that doesn't have "gay marriage" but marriage regardless of sex/gender/sexual orientation.

It's not serious here. It's a joke and any couple of idiot straights can get married...even if they're drunk! But try to have a serious relationship and it's like no way.

Totally agree.
Here the Church lost the battle when all the gossip press publishes how rich people can "nullify" their marriage (since the Catholic church is against divorce) by means of going to a special court and paying a lot of money. According to the ecclesiastical law, they can only get "nullified" if they haven't had sex.

The eldest of our princesses is currently "nullifying" her marriage (with our tax money) and she already got two children with her retarded husband. Add that to all the famous folk singers who have "nullified" marriages in the recent years.

Who has the right to say what's right for marriage?

GRRR... I wish you could get it too!
